John G. Garett, Ph.D., MBA, M.Ed.,

John earned his Ph.D in Social-Cognitive and Healthcare Psychology/Behavioral Medicine in 2016 from Northcentral University, MBA from NYU-Stern School of Business in International Marketing & Economics and his M.Ed in Industrial Psychology & Labor Relations from Springfield College in Massachusetts.  John provides psychological clinical services for adolescents and adults in Sparta, NJ and tutors college students.  John originally hails from Chicago and is an avid sports fan. 

John earned his undergraduate degree in psychology form Purdue University.  He has been an adjunct professor of psychology at Montclair State University since 2008 and an active AFT Local 6025 Union committee member since 2018.  John is the Assistant Director of Adjunct Membership recruiting.  He works closely with both Mary Wallace and Laurie LeFever since elected to the executive board, helping to spread our message to all adjuncts working at MSU. 

John has worked as a psychologist, marketing/advertising and healthcare entrepreneur (Rx Health Advantage) for over 30 years of corporate experience with Mobil Oil (HR), Clairol, Ogilvy & Mather, Tampax, Bristol-Myers Squibb and Merck.  John is a strong advocate and active member of several adjunct unions including St. John's University, Mercy University, Brooklyn College and IONA University.  John knows the value of the AFT Adjunct Local 6025.  They give him confidence and a voice at MSU every day.  The union has his back...and he is proud to be an active member supporting the mission of AFT Local 6025 and fighting for the rights of all adjuncts!
