Laureen LeFever

1st Vice President

Laureen LeFever is entering her 25th year as an adjunct and her 18th year here at MSU in the Communications Department. She is also proudly serving as 1st Vice President and membership Chairperson for our local. She also serves as a delegate and is working with an number of committees at the Council of State Colleges of New Jersey and AFT New Jersey. She is advocating for adjuncts every day. Laurie received her BA in Communication Arts from St. Francis College in Brooklyn Heights, NY and after a number of years of professional training and working as an actress in NYC, Laurie went on to earn her MFA in Acting at Brooklyn College. She has been a proud member of the actors’ union, SAG-AFTRA for over 25 years as well! Laurie is the daughter, granddaughter, niece and cousin of many proud, strong and devoted Union workers and organizers from the AFL-CIO, the CWA and the Teamsters. Her allegiance to union values runs deep in her heart, so with great respect, immense gratitude and in total solidarity, Laurie plans to continue her involvement with our local for a long time to come!
